Akarbo Resources was founded in 2022 by Nicolas Hébert.
It all started with the realisation that mines are incredibly rigid entities with tremendous inertia.
Shifting the organisation from within, to align with net-zero trajectories, is a nearly impossible task when low-emission considerations aren’t integrated in the long term planning at the inception of the project.
Too often, the sunken costs of fossil-linked infrastructure and design prevent reorienting the mine in the right direction.
The answer to this problem seems simple :
At Akarbo, we’re do not favor for extractivism for the sake of it.
We call it mining with a purpose. Enabling earthlings to get a share of the concentrated geochemical anomaly from the planet they were born in.
A geological oddity, formed million to billion years ago, waiting to be discovered and turned into progress for mankind. We engage in no- regret activities. As electrification is the gateway to decarbonisation, Akarbo partakes in enabling the supply of metals of the energy transition, in juridictions attracting a geopolitical premium, to ensure friendshoring of the value chain. In essence, a trailblazer ready for green protectionism, in favourable regimes. Prospecting for deposits with world-class endowment resembles chasing unicorns, which is exactly what we aim for: Becoming the first integrated miner responsible to 1 billion tonnes of CO2 avoided in downstream scope 4 emissions. We are here to drive the sustainable agenda and embrace the most actionable challenge of this century :
